Synthetic fear?!?
You know those single celled organisms that either keep our guts working properly or kill us in a horribly painful way? Well, it may also be the nightmare our synthetic brethren never knew was coming. Bacteria may be the downfall of synthetic dominance at least the metal and plastic kind. Stage one, store memories in a soup of bacteria.

I wonder, once AI reaches a sentient level, will it worry needlessly about being replaced by microscopic cells like we are prone to do as we consider the impact it potentially will have on us? Perhaps we should consider the upside to both. Plastic and metal tend to work well in environments where biology would fail. Biology is relentless in its ability to adapt and scale but can be fragile. Neural integration, exoskeletons, bionics, implants, sensory tattoos, nanobots, and other advancements are here. Full integration may serve to create a new generation of humans (I wont go so far as to say species yet). At what point does evolution kick in or maybe we just become the Borg?
As far as we know, humans are the only species on the planet to truly fear the future and not just anticipate natural disasters in a fight or flight mode. We are also the only species we know of that is optimistic - we recognize the opportunities that disruptions like these provide. I for one am excited by the changes we are already experiencing and the ones that are coming sooner than many are willing to accept. To meet these changes head on is the fundamental reason I started the Transhuman Resources movement. The evolution is here. Come be a part of it.
